Be aware that there are two or three busy seasons a year which are about 6 weeks before Easter, Communion and Christmas. Please be aware that the wait time extends to 5-6 weeks starting 2 months before the holiday. If you order three months before the holiday (or sooner) you are guaranteed delivery in plenty of time for you to smock. Planning your outfit is half the fun as smocking.
Along with picking a fabric from over 200 choices you have your choice of matching collar or cuffs or you can use a contrasting fabric and accent piping. For example if you choose a solid color for your dress you can use either a white collar with piping to match the dress or you can use a color for the collar which compliments the dress. Have fun designing your outfit with over 200 fabrics to choose from.Your fabric choices are many, ranging from solids in Imperial Broadcloth and Imperial Batiste to checks/ginghams and plaids to prints, corduroy or seersucker.
The rule of thumb for a background to picture smocking is to use a solid color or choose a small check or plaid and go with bold colors on your pictures. Print fabrics can be fun to play around with by coordinating a design with the print, again using bold colors to make the design catch your eye.
Geometic designs can also be tricky as you want to make certain your smocking doesn't disappear in a distance. The rule of thumb for geometrics on prints is to go with the darkest color with the print as your dominant color in the smocking and pick up shades of the remaining print colors within the rest of the smocking design. Accent colors can also be use effectively in a smocking design … whatever really ties the whole dress/smocking together.
The Basic Yoke Dress high front and back yokes comes pleated in the front with a sash for back tie.
Elastic or Pleated Short or
Long sleeve available.
Peter Pan Collar (usually white but you can choose) is piped in coordinating colors. Mother of Pearl buttons are used.
Each outfit is made according to your specifications and take 3-4 weeks to complete.
Rush orders are available with an additional 15% fee charged.

Comes with Peter Pan Collar or Scalloped Collar.
You can add piping or go with hemstitching to add your lace or choose to add lace.
Collars come in white, self fabric or white pique.
Your choice of long or short sleeve with elastic or pleated for smocking.

Washing Instructions:
We recommend you machine wash all garments in the delicate cycle & line dry to ensure their lasting
quality, or tumble dry low. You don't want all your beautiful work to disappear in the hot dryer.
We recommend either Anchor or DMC floss for your embroidery floss of choice.
Of course you can use other types of floss including metallics and
silk but for your first project we suggest you stick with cotton floss.
