Rajmahal Art Silks Floss
So beautiful to touch and work with, such a soft and shiny thread and
what colors!!! Very bright and beautiful. As it is rayon
and silk you have to use short strands when embroidering as it will fray
after a while. Also if you have any rough spots on your hands it will
catch. Use hand cream before you embroider to soften the snags. I
like to mix it with Silk Ribbon to make really outstanding pieces. I
especially like to use the greens as my stems rather than use ribbon, adds
a dimensional look that otherwise will be missing if you just use ribbon.
Rajmahal is perfect for hand embroidery and needlecraft of all styles,
including silk ribbon, stumpwork, miniature and Brazilian work, smocking,
lace-making, cross stitch, crazy quilting, canvas work, petit point, weaving,
fringe and tassel-making, and braiding. In my experience I have found that the addition of Silk filbers
makes this floss behave unlike Rayon floss which tends to gather static
electricity, however if you do have problems the manufacturer recommends you rub the floss on a dryer sheet which will eliminate the static cling.
$1.90 per 8.75 yard skeins - 6 stranded 65% viscose rayon/35% silk floss
