This cozy winter nightgown is designed to be smocked in the front with plain back or smocked in the front & back or no smocking at all. It is designed to be made of cotton flannel, flannelette or other winter weight fabrics. The yoke can be quilted, embellished with embroidery or boutis techniques. Battenberg lace, shadow embroidery or shadow applique, reverse applique, Madeira applique, sashiko quilting, piping and many other techniques or with as much lace as you like. If you are adventurous, you might try it in batiste without the smocking or the long sleeves. Three smocking designs are included with the pattern. This nightgown was designed keeping in mind how sensitive women's skin can be following open-heart surgery or a mastectomy. The generous opening makes it easy to get on and off without having to raise you arms over your head. With a size range from XS to XXXL, everyone can make a flattering comfy winter nightgown

This stunning nightgown, with it's distinctive front yoke panels, can be made with or without smocking at the neckline and sleeve edges. Two long sleeve options are included - one with smocking at the wrists, while the other has narrow bands. The short sleeves can be smocked or gathered with elastic.
Creative Keepsakes Nightgown Patterns
Smocked Nightgown and Robe Series in sizes Child through Adult Bishop style smocked front - worked in a half circle. This pattern may be a bit confusing as it does not have the pattern pieces for the gown drawn out since they are just rectangles and easy to prepare but once you get over that hump the directions of the pattern are clear to follow and easy to construct. In fact I was amazed at how quickly it came together.

I have been hunting for a beautiful printed lawn for the longest time now and found one the other day, much to my delight (and yours hopefully). The softest hand, the prettiest drape, the perfect fabric to smock for either bishops or basic square yoke dresses. Also would make a lovely skirt, blouse or nightgown/pajamas. Perfection itself.
