The pattern has been designed to be made of heavier weight fabrics such as broadcloth, flannel, light weight wools, fine corduroy, etc. It comes in sizes 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.

This cozy winter nightgown is designed to be smocked in the front with plain back or smocked in the front & back or no smocking at all. It is designed to be made of cotton flannel, flannelette or other winter weight fabrics.

The yoke can be quilted, embellished with embroidery or boutis techniques. Battenberg lace, shadow embroidery or shadow applique, reverse applique, Madeira applique, sashiko quilting, piping and many other techniques or with as much lace as you like. If you are adventurous, you might try it in batiste without the smocking or the long sleeves.

Three smocking designs are included with the pattern. This nightgown was designed keeping in mind how sensitive women's skin can be following open-heart surgery or a mastectomy. The generous opening makes it easy to get on and off without having to raise you arms over your head. With a size range from XS to XXXL, everyone can make a flattering comfy winter nightgown

A Ladies Smocked or Heirloom Nightgown or Sundress.   This deliciously feminine nightgown is as light as a summer breeze and can be made as a smocked or an heirloom gown with as much lace as you like. In a print, it could even double as a sundress!

There are three smocking designs contained in the pattern, two of which may challenge you. There are so many ways to work the bodice bands of the heirloom version, from tucking to Madeira appliqué to cutwork or delicate embroidery. Or add some Swiss insertions and a touch of French Val lace. With a size range from XS to XXXL everyone can make a flattering gown. Waltz length gown is 9" shorter than full-length gown. Try it in cotton Broadcloth, delicate Lawn,  lightweight Denim or sensuous Silk Dupioni.

Little Breeze, sized 2-10, makes a delightful pinafore or sundress with the same square armhole bands as the adult gown. Knee length, smocked front and back with a ruffle neckline and rickrack trim. Full length heirloom version with an easy Swiss edge overlay on the front bodice band and trimmed with mini-piping. Embellish to your heart's content with your own favorite laces, tucks and embroidery. Included are two smocking designs.
