The Lou Anne Lamar Company has been delighting the smocking audience with her designs
since the early 1980's. As you can see the designers are masters of geometric
as well as picture smocking. Their experimentation with ribbon weavings
and embellishments on smocking set the pace for other designers.
They have also started working with silk ribbon embroidery on smocking
designs (see Anne Franklin's Flower Garden. Excellent instructions
as well as a graph for each image
