Kay Guiles is a designer of exquisite heirloom sewing and smocked clothing patterns for young to older girls with a style that transcends the basic yoke dress.
She has also written two informative books on Heirloom Sewing which include patterns but only one is in print at present. We've just been informed that these patterns are going out of print, so get them while you can.

Elisa is a lovely dress with an heirloom sewn collar perfect in white for communion or in prints or colors for any special occasion. You have your choice of smocking below the bodice or a simple band with buttons and sash. The sleeves can be either tucked and embellished with a button or puffed with a bias band. Matching 18" doll dress pattern available.

KG#22 Abigail - Girls: 3mos - 3 years

Here's a sweet dress for your little one with heirloom sewing touches and elegance. An adaptation from the turn of the century this round yoke dress is inset into a softly gathered skirt. Many variations are possible with this pattern, including piping, lace, entredeux and embroidery as well as a spoke yoke which can be gussied up with extra lace edging and insertions or made simple to allow the fabric to shine.
