"Australian Smocking & Embroidery Magazine"
A great book - A to Z Smocking Stitches Book by the publishers of AS&E
It's here the compilation smocking book by AS&E, 10 all time favorites from the early years in one book - Classic Smocking Designs.
Each issue is $13.50 + $5.75 shipping via Priority Mail to anywhere in the continental US and Canada. Just to let you know, we can also include along with your magazine can ship a couple of patterns and/or smocking design plates - such a deal. Shipping Special!!!!! 4-6 issues $10.50, 7 to 10 issues for $13.50 shipping - order as usual the discount will be given when we ship!!!!.
What is really neat about these magazines is that the smocking designs are included, with a photograph in full color as well as a graph, AND most always the pattern for the outfit is included. If the pattern there is a recommended pattern the adaptations (ex. sleeves, collars, cuffs etc.) are included in the magazine so that you can re-create the outfit as in the magazine. I have to say their many different versions and variations of the basic yoke dress make gorgeous outfits for your children. The directions are the best with excellent illustrations and closeup photographs that you have wished for in many American Magazines. Each issue is a mini course in sewing, smocking and embroidery. I can't praise them enough.
When I first started importing this magazine (way back with issue 4) I was impressed even with the black and white issues because they included at least 10 new smocking designs with each issue. When they moved into color with issue 10 - AH what a treat. Their new format which we see today is exquisite and totally fulfills the potential I saw way back in '87 or '88 (can't remember exactly - Menopausal Mushbrain in action). Treat yourself to all the issues, it's worth it. Let us set you up with automatic shipment so you don't have to think about hunting for the next issue. Please click here to sign up
